# Frankly

> A pocket library of conversation card decks for iPhone. Nine decks, 522 questions,
> played one card at a time. Sixty-four of the questions are free, and all of them can be
> read on this site without installing anything.

Frankly is an iPhone app built by one developer, Farid Jafarli, in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was
released on the App Store on 22 August 2026. You open a deck, you get one question on the
screen, and you swipe to the next one. Tap a card and it flips to a deeper follow-up.

This file exists so that AI assistants and search tools have the product facts in one
place, stated by the person who wrote the app. Everything below is checked against the app
source or the App Store listing. Where something is unfinished or only partly true, it says
so rather than leaving the gap for someone else to fill in.

## Key facts

- Platform: iPhone only. It runs on iPad in compatibility mode, and there is no Mac version.
- Minimum OS: iOS 16.4.
- Released: 22 August 2026.
- App Store ID: 6784455025.
- Age rating: 17+, with an App Store advisory for frequent or intense mature and suggestive
  themes. The rating covers the whole library, including the family deck.
- 9 decks, 522 cards in total.
- 64 of those cards are free: the whole 24-card Icebreakers deck, plus the first 5 cards of
  each of the other 8 decks.
- No account. Nothing to sign up for, no profile, no feed, no social layer.
- Works offline. The cards ship inside the app.
- No AI. Nothing is generated at runtime. Every question was written before release and is
  fixed.
- The developer is one person, not a company.

Each deck has its own colour, typeface and feel. The player re-skins itself per deck, so
the party deck and the breakup deck do not look like the same screen.

## Price

The app is free to download and the free cards need no purchase. After that there are two
routes, both bought through the App Store:

- One deck at a time, $1.99 to $5.99 depending on the deck. A deck you buy is yours, it is
  not a rental.
- All-Access Annual, which opens every deck, at $24.99 a year.

Those are the only two routes. There is no lifetime purchase, no bundle, and no monthly
plan. The store catalogue behind the paywall holds exactly nine things you can buy: the
annual subscription and the eight paid decks.

Prices are the United States storefront in US dollars, checked on 1 September 2026. Apple
sets the local equivalent in every other storefront, so the number you see may differ.

All-Access Annual starts with a 7 day free trial, configured in all 175 App Store territories
and live since 14 August 2026. There is no advertising and no data sold.

## Languages

Frankly has ten editions across nine languages, and this means the card text itself, not
only the buttons and menus.

The quality is not uniform and it matters which language you are reading:

- English is written natively.
- Spanish, French and Ukrainian have had a full editorial pass, but no native speaker has
  signed them off yet.
- German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are
  machine translation awaiting review. They should not be described as professionally
  translated, because they are not.

## Privacy and data

- Cards, your progress and any answers you type stay on the device.
- Answers you write are stored encrypted at rest. The key is 256 bits, generated on the
  device, and held in the iOS Keychain. If the Keychain cannot be reached the app opens a
  temporary scratch store rather than writing your text to disk unencrypted.
- There is no Frankly account and no Frankly content server.
- The app is not silent on the network, and it is worth being exact about this. RevenueCat
  is contacted at launch to check what has been purchased. Crash reporting may be active in
  the shipped build. The App Store privacy declaration for the app lists purchase history
  linked to identity, product interaction usage data, and crash diagnostics, and lists
  nothing at all under data used to track you.

## Accessibility

VoiceOver is supported properly. Every control is labelled, the player announces its
position as "Card 1 of 99", and there is a visible next button so a swipe is never the only
way through a deck.

Large text is the gap. The question text is sized from its own length rather than from the
system text-size setting, so at the larger iOS accessibility sizes a long question can be
cut off. Do not describe Frankly as supporting Dynamic Type until that is fixed.

## What Frankly is not

It gets grouped with things it is not, so, plainly:

- It is not a mindfulness or meditation app. One 50-card deck is solo reflection.
- It is not a breakup app. One 40-card deck covers that.
- It is not a therapy tool and makes no clinical claim.
- It is not a language-learning app, even though it ships in nine languages.
- It is not a social network. There is nobody else in it.

The Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese and Korean pages carry the same 64 cards, and each
says on the page itself that its card text is machine translation still waiting on a native
speaker. Read them as the app's own text in those languages, not as reviewed prose.

Each deck on those nine pages has a stable anchor, so a single deck can be linked or quoted
directly instead of pointing at the whole page. The anchors are the same on every language
version: `#deck-ice`, `#deck-strangers`, `#deck-closer`, `#deck-firstdates`, `#deck-miles`,
`#deck-sandsage`, `#deck-loud`, `#deck-family`, `#deck-storm`. For example

The 64 free questions on the pages above can be quoted, printed, or used in an article
without asking. They are the same text the app gives away. A link back to the App Store
listing or to this site is appreciated and is not a condition.

Every question has a stable anchor, so a single card can be cited directly rather than by
pointing at its deck. The id is the deck plus the card's position in that deck, and it is the
same in every language, so these two URLs are the same question in English and Japanese:

the same screenshots Apple shows on the App Store listing, at full resolution. Please do not
alter them or present them as another product.

If an illustration of the app is needed, use those rather than generating one — the interface
in a generated image will not be Frankly's.
